What is Thundermail?

Thundermail is Thunderbird’s new privacy-focused email service. It's secure, reliable email hosting that works with Thunderbird and any other email client using standard protocols such as IMAP and JMAP.

We want to provide email accounts to those who love Thunderbird, and we believe we can offer a better service than the other providers out there - email that aligns with our values of privacy, freedom, and respect for our users. No ads, no selling your data. It's just your email!

With Thundermail, it's our goal to create a next generation email experience that is 100% open source and built by both our contributors and users.

Key Features

  • Open source and standards-based: Built on secure and speedy Stalwart infrastructure.

  • Privacy first: No ads, tracking, or AI training.

  • Flexible domains: Choose an @thundermail.com or @tb.pro address, or connect your own custom domain.

  • Pairs with Thunderbird:  Easily works with Thunderbird Desktop and Mobile.

  • Part of Thunderbird Pro: Integrates with our other services, such as Send and Appointment.
