Using Thundermail With Other Clients

Setting up Thundermail in Thunderbird is an automatic process, but If you use a different email client, we do have this guide to assist you!

Connecting Thundermail to Your Email Client

The first step is to set up an app password, which will allow your Thunderbird account and your client to connect.

Creating an App Password

  1. Sign in to your Thundermail dashboard.
  2. Scroll down to the “Email Settings” section.
  3. Click the “Create app password” button.
  4. Type the password you want to use into the “New password” field.
  5. Enter it again into the “Confirm password” field.
  6. Click the “Save” button.
Please remember to note this password. You will not be able to view or recover it later!

Now, add an account in your client with your Thundermail address and app password.

If the client doesn't automatically connect, please see the "View Server Settings" section of your Thundermail dashboard for all of your incoming and outgoing mail settings, or refer to the information below:

Incoming Settings (IMAP or JMAP)

Server name: mail.thundermail.com

Server port: 993 (for IMAP) or 443 (for JMAP)

Authentication: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Settings (SMTP)

Server name: mail.thundermail.com

Server port: 465

Authentication: SSL/TLS

Quick Tip

You can always view your addresses and set their passwords all from the "Email Settings" section of your Thunderbird dashboard.
