Every alias on your Thundermail account, whether it’s @thundermail.com, @tb.pro, or at one of your own custom domains, delivers into the same inbox as your primary address.
An alias is a forwarding address, not a second mailbox. Mail sent to it lands in exactly the same place as mail sent to your primary address, right alongside everything else.
How do aliases work?
- One inbox, no matter how many aliases: up to 15 @thundermail.com/@tb.pro aliases, and unlimited aliases on a custom domain, all deliver to the same inbox.
- Custom domains work the same way: adding your own domain doesn’t change this. A domain, like any alias, belongs to one Thundermail account with one inbox.
- Aliases aren’t accounts: they don’t have their own login or password, so they can’t be handed to someone else as their own private mailbox.
This question comes up most for families or small teams hoping to give each person their own address on a shared domain, like everyone @example.com. A custom domain doesn’t enable that on its own. For that, each person needs their own separate Thundermail account rather than an alias on someone else’s.
