Getting Started With Send

Let’s get everything working so you can start sending those secured files!

Initial Setup: The Add-on

  1. Open your Thunderbird desktop app.
  2. Make sure your app is updated to the newest stable or ESR version.
  3. In the top right corner of the app, press the “three lines” menu button.
  4. Click “Add-ons and Themes” in your app’s file menu.
  5. The Add-ons Manager appears! Search for "Thundermail"
  6. When the results show, find Thundermail at the top and click the "+ Add to Thunderbird" button.
  7. An alert will pop up in the top-right corner that says "Add Thundermail" with required permissions. Click the "Add" button, and then press "OK."

Signing In to Thundermail

  1. In the top right corner of the app, press the “three lines” menu button again.
  2. Click “Sign in to Thundermail.”
  3. Follow the prompts to log in to your existing Thundermail account or to purchase a new Thundermail plan.
  4. Follow the instructions on creating your Recovery Key. Download the key to a safe place to continue.
